Spent weekend for surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday. Excellent weekend, staff were superb, couldn't do enough for us, nothing was a bother. Food excellent, real wholesome. Rooms great, spa in wonderful. Location is perfect. Definitely worth a third visit

Our family 2 adults, 3 kids stayed in the apartments attached to the hotel for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent as was food, service and about everything else. Lovely stay enjoyed by all.

Stayed as a family group for a family party. We had a fantastic time helped by excellent food, nice surroundings and very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay any better. Well done to Ted and all the staff.

we had a great weekend here and were so impressed with the staff - they were all so friendly and helpful! rooms were big and spacious and our meal in the restaurant was fantastic - we'll be back!

Very Friendly staff, lovely food, Spa was fantastic. My one and only fault was the rooms are very noisy in that you can hear any noise in the hall ways in your room. A lot of doors banging!! However I would definitely stay here again.Very relaxing and overall brilliant.

For a four star hotel I was a bit dissapointed with my stay. On arrival I made comment to a member of staff that the towel facility in the main toilets was stuck and there were no fresh towels - it ...
stayed this way all weekend and was the same when leaving. The toilets flooded on one occasion over the weekend when trying to get into them - floor covered in water with taps runnin g - cracked panes of glass in the bedroom - dirty and peeling toilet seat in bathrooms - wall paper peeling and generally shabby look to the dining room. That said the food and staff were lovely and we did enjoy the swimming centre. Just a general update of interior and better attention to detail could make this a proper 4* hotel. I travel quite extensively around Ireland and the UK with work and would not clas this as a 4* hotel compared to others - attention required. ---

I stayed in the Apartments belong to the hotel and they were fantastic. Great space for a big family. All of my family enjoyed and the staff couldnt do enough for us. Many thanks and we will be back.

We travelled down to Athy for a 2 night midweek break under the 7th Heaven deal. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and couldn't rate the staff at the hotel highly enough. They were very helpful and very ...
friendly. However, the room we were staying in seemed to be suffering from subsidence as the floor was sloped and we noted a huge crack between the ceiling and wall in the bathroom. Also, the television screen was very difficult to see from the bed (shadowy when viewed from an angle). We were unable to use most of the vouchers given with the 7th Heaven deal. The €20 off a 60 minute treatment was obselete as there was no 60 minute treatment, and I ended up paying full amount for a 50 minute treatment. The bar staff didn't know anything about the 7th Heaven cocktail and only one member of staff was able to make us an equivalent. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant on our second night but again the voucher given under the 7th Heaven deal was no use as the Table d'Hote dinner didn't exist on the night we stayed.
However, overall, we did enjoy our stay and look forward to another stay at a Carlton hotel in the future. ---
