Blue Grass Festival

Since 1991 Athy has played host to many fine bluegrass bands and artists such as Homer Ledford & The Cabin Creek Band, Butch Waller & High Country, Bill Keith, Eric Weissberg, Jim Rooney, Kenny Kosek, Lynn Morris Band, The Sullivan Brothers, Dark Road, Dan Crary. Athy in July has become a pilgrimage for many bluegrass fans from all over Ireland and many European countries as it offers true bluegrass year on year.
Oxygen 2010

OXEGEN is widely regarded as one of the world’s top music festivals so it’s easy to forget that the festival only started in 2004.
Since then, Punchestown (Naas, Co.Kildare) has hosted some of the world’s greatest acts and witnessed many unforgettable moments.

Venice of Ireland Festival 11th - 17th July

The Monasterevin Venice of Ireland festival aims to be inclusive and reflect the ambiance and ethos of the town and surrounding districts. With this in mind we have tried to create a festival to suit all ages and with plenty of diversity including Music, Art, Poetry, Street Entertainment and of course good old craic.

Darley Irish Oaks 18th July

Europe's top fillies compete for Classic race glory in the Darley Irish Oaks, while the top lady riders battle it out in the prestigious Thalgo Ladies Derby.  Ladies are encouraged to dress to impress with fabulous prizes from Miele including a 3,000 euro voucher for their state of the art range of kitchen appliances.
